I see a number of different UPC numbers in shopping for an MD802 scanner.  I am wondering what the differences would be between the various models - all advertised as "MD802".  Now I see some labeled "DS" and I wonder what that stands for and also whether it is an older model or a newer model.  Also, is there a listing somewhere of the various MD802 models, so that I can determine if I am buying an older version.

Finally, is there a list of truly authorized dealers somewhere, as I have read articles warning against counterfeit units and "authorized" dealers and/or distributors, and the registration and warranty problems that come up when you can't tell if the dealer is legitimate.
